About Neil Ferguson

Neil Ferguson’s interests include: structuring personal “art systems” employing rules and strategies to track small thoughts and imagining through act. These approaches look to engage with the politics of looking, thinking and making to explore connections with an audience. These works  often utilize sets and extensive series of images.

This serialising places importance on capturing  on “almost nothings” and “wee thoughts”, as the moments of extreme clarity that sustain personal development in art practice .

Neil Ferguson studied Drawing & Painting at Edinburgh College of Art , Goldsmiths’ College and London Guildhall University.

He is a former Abbey Austin Scholar in Painting at the British School in Rome and taught at the Sir John CASS Faculty of Art, Architecture & Design, London Metropolitan University.

Visiting Lecturer at Middlesex University, London, Edinburgh College of Art and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee.
